History Major Report: Found The World’s Oldest Water, Age 160 Million Years Old-The world’s oldest water has been discovered. This water is 160 million years old. it’s discovered by Geochemist Barbara Sherwood Lollar of Isotopes Geochemistry of Toronto University.

This water is kept within the Canadian Science and Technology Museum. allow us to know where this water was found? How does it taste? Barbara Sherwood collected water from a Canadian mine through two members of her team. He was then sent to Oxford University for investigation.

When the solution didn’t arrive for several days, Barbara called the Oxford University lab and asked what happened to the present sample. The technician present within the lab jokingly replied that our spectrometer has been broken. it’s so old that it’s taking time to attach us.

This sample of water was found within the north of Canada’s Ontariois at an area called Timmins from the K mine. This sample of water is 160 million years old. The oldest water present on earth. Barbara was surprised to find out that she had discovered the oldest water present on Earth. Barbara says that with this water it are often known whether there was ever life on other planets within the system .

Barbara told that this water smells stale. due to this smell, we came to understand that this water is being discharged between the cracks of the stones. The taste of this water is very salty. it’s 10 times more salty than seawater. Barbara Sherwood told that she first visited Timmins in 1992. He then traveled inside the Kidd Creek mine.

Barbara and her team went inside the mine for two .4 kilometers after 17 years of the 1992 trip. After this, collected samples for four years. Investigated them. Now his team possesses 100 million years old water. Barbara says that we only know water as H2O but never think what else has been found in it. Radiogenic noble gases like helium and xenon are found during this water 160 million years old.

The 160 million year old water found in Kidd Khan also has a component called Enginium. Currently, this sample of water is kept in Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa. aside from this, there also are comolithotrophic microbes, thanks to which the water color is looking slightly yellow. it’s alive by eating hydrogen and sulfate.

Barbara said that even today copper and zinc are mined within the Kidd mine. it’s the deepest mine within the world. it’s about three kilometers deep. Depth is more in some places but it’s not been measured yet. It takes about 1 hour to enter this mine. to urge there one has got to travel during a two-storey elevator then during a 1.5 km long battery powered train. This train runs to a depth of 2377 meters.

Barbara said that once you go inside this mine, once you touch its walls, you’ll feel the warmth . Even the water flowing inside it remains warm at 25 ° C. This mine was started in 1963. But since then, there are many scientific experiments during this mine. This mine remains an honest source of research project for the scientists of the planet .
